At Bethel, we desire to uphold marriage as God intends it to be. Therefore, we strive to promote weddings in which the couple is following biblical guidelines for marriage.

If you would like to have your wedding at Bethel’s Richland Campus or be married by someone on the Bethel staff you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Review the Elders’ letter to engaged couples.
  2. Review and sign the Marriage Covenant and make an appointment with Bethel Elder Dick Erickson for a couple’s interview at the church.
NOTE: Please bring the signed Covenant form with you to this meeting.
  3. Fill out the wedding request form and mail to Bethel (attn: Greg and Jill Cullen, 600 Shockley Rd., Richland, WA 99352).
  4. Make arrangements to attend the eight-week Preparing for Marriage course (more information below). The course is mandatory to get married at Bethel or by a Bethel staff member.

Reserving Your Date and Facility Information
After the above steps are complete contact facilities coordinator, Brenda Hollingsworth, at Bethel to meet with her and reserve your wedding date on the church calendar.  Brenda will also go over facility options and rates with you.  The maximum cost for a wedding at Bethel is $700 and the maximum cost for a reception is $275.  There may be a reduction in price depending on the needs of your wedding.

Preparing for Marriage pre-marital course

NOTE: The Preparing for Marriage course is mandatory for couples getting married at Bethel or by a Bethel staff member. This course is open to engaged couples and couples thinking about engagement

Great marriages don’t just happen … you have to work at them! A crucial part of having a great marriage is preparation. The decision to marry is one of the most important choices we make in life. Preparation for marriage involves much more than planning the details of a beautiful wedding. Our goal is to help you establish a marriage that will endure and that will bless you for a lifetime.

Preparing for Marriage is an eight-week course designed to prepare you for what lies ahead.  The course is usually done in a small group format with other couples who are engaged or thinking about future engagement.  The curriculum used is Family Life’s Preparing for Marriage.  The book focuses on topics such as communication, expectations, intimacy, finances, roles and responsibilities, etc.  There are also special projects designed to guide couples in discussions of critical issues and help them learn even more about one another. Preparing for Marriage is $10 and each person will need to purchase a copy. The books can be purchased at the first meeting.

Call Greg and Jill Cullen at 627-1835 to arrange to attend.
